Description
The two men are the artists Poul S. Christiansen and Anders Trulson. As Trulson normally sported a beard, he is probably the man on the left. The Swedish painter Trulson was ill with tuberculosis at the time and he passed away in Civita d'Antino later that summer, on August 24, 1911.

Danneskjold-Samsøe: Kristian Zahrtmann, depicted page 471 and described on page 449: "...Zahrtmanns hovedværk denne sommer blev et interiør fra spisestuen med det dækkede bord og med Christiansen og Truelson staaende i Samtale..." (Zahrtmann's most prominent work that summer was an interior from the dining room, with the table laid up and with Christiansen and Truelson standing and conversing).
