Summary

[edit]
Description

Kopanos Bridge over the Eurotas river, ca. 5 km north of Sparta. Built in 1730, according to an inscription recorded by Loring in 1895, when the bridge was still in good repair and carried the old road from Tripolis to Sparta. Only the eastern third of the span was preserved in 1988, when this photograph was taken.
