Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Located at the Hükümet Meydanı, where one can also see some fine early 20th century buildings like that of the PTT, the T.C. Ziraat bank and some others, stands the fine Şerafettin mosque, originally a Selcuk mosque that has been rebuilt after 1630. It is described as a copy of the Kiliç Ali Paşa mosque in Istanbul by Sinan (though lacking its closed forecourt), itself a copy of the Haghia Sophia. I understood the minaret has toppled several times, and that the whole mosque has been restored in 1983. It has a mausoleum in its garden.
