Description
English: Arms of Knightley of Fawsley, Northamptonshire, 12 quarters. Detail from 1615 Knightley monument in Fawsley Church.   • 1: Quarterly ermine and paly of six or and gules a bordure argent (Knightley)
  • 2: Azure, a buck's head cabossed or (Golover)
  • 3: Sable, on a saltire argent five swans of the field (Burgh)
  • 4: Argent, a lion rampant within a bordure engrailed sable (Cowley)
  • 5: Sable, a chevron between three hawk's lures argent (Skinnard)
  • 6: Argent, a bend lozengy gules and or (Harwedon)
  • 7: Gules, two bars argent a canton ermine (St John "of Homeldon" (Burke, Sir Bernard, The General Armory, London, 1884, p.889)), shown here with tinctures transposed (possibly restored erroneously) as: Argent, two bars gules a canton ermine. This family is obscure. The Heraldic Visitation of Northamptonshire, 1564, attributes no family to these arms.
