English: The picture shows the Zaowangye on the wall in Dongping, Shandong Province, China. Zaowangye is the God in charge of kitchen and food in Chinese folk belief. Traditionally, on the night of the 23rd lunar month, people burn the Zaowangye posted in the previous year, and ask him to say good words in front of the jade emperor after going to heaven, so as to protect the family in the coming year.
中文（简体）：图为山东东平一间农村厨房的墙壁上所贴的灶王爷。灶王爷是中国民间信仰中掌管厨房和饮食的神。在农历的腊月二十三晚上，人们要烧了上一年所贴的灶王爷像，让他上天在玉帝面前多说好话，保佑这一家人来年平安。
