Description
English: Kirkgate railway station. Kirkgate railway station was originally the only station in Wakefield. Built around 1840, it was run by the Manchester & Leeds Railway Co. The present building, constructed in ashlar stone, dates back to 1854, and is a grade II listed building. 1867 saw the building of Westgate station which became the main station for Wakefield.
