Description
Deutsch: Das 2010/2012 runderneuerte Stadtmuseum in Rapperswil (SG) und seine Sammlung: Silberobjekte aus Kirchenschatz der Stadtpfarrkirche St. Johann in Rapperswil, Leihgabe der Pfarrei St. Johann Rapperswil, Katholische Kirchgemeinde Rapperswil-Jona.
English: Collection of the Stadtmuseum in Rapperswil (Switzerland): church treasury of Stadtpfarrkirche St. Johann.
Vortragekreuz, um 1480/1500, vergoldetes Kupfer und Silber, von einem unbekannten Meister. Das an der Spitze von Prozessionen und Totengeleiten getragene Kreuz besteht aus einem Holzkern, von vergoldetem Kupferblech umfasst und mit reich mit Ranken verziert, das Kruzifix aus getriebenem Silber. Die Balkenenden schmücken vier silberne Medaillons mit Symbolen der Evangelisten: Johannes (Adler), Markus (Löwe), Lukas (Stier) und Matthäus (Engel). Auf der Rückseite ist in der Vierung ein Silberplättchen mit eingraviertem Schweisstuch Christi angebracht.
