Description
This is a photograph of an architectural monument.
It is on the list of cultural monuments of Glückstadt, no. 3018.

Glückstadt (Schleswig-Holstein) – Am Markt – Kandelaber – Errichtet: 1869

– Der spätklassizistische gusseiserner Kandelaber weist fünf Ampeln auf, von denen vier seitlich auf Volutenarmen ruhen. Die fünfte Ampel bildet die Spitze des Schafts und überragt die anderen. Der Schaft ist oben kanneliert, darunter mit floralen Mustern verziert. Der Sockel zeigt vier Adler mit ausgebreiteten Flügeln.

– Der Kandelaber wurde einem Glückstädter Bürger gestiftet und 1869 in der Mitte des Marktplatzes aufgestellt. Vorher stand an dieser Stelle ein Marktbrunnen mit Brunnenhaus. Eine Restaurierung erfolgte 1985.
