Summary

[edit]
Description
English: King Street, NE1. View looking south from Akenside Hill along King Street towards the Tyne. The block on the right was designed by John Dobson and Gibson Kyle. It caught fire in 1867. It was fully insured, and appears to have been rebuilt soon afterwards. On the same site in 1854 there was a previous explosion and fire.
