| Description |
English: King Street, Crosshill The tall building comprises the village Post Office and some houses. The single storey building is a traditional terraced cottage which (I think!) is an old weaver's cottage. Crosshill grew as a weaving village in the early 1800s. The extra window near the door suggests that this was indeed a weaving cottage. The weavers needed as much light as possible and the loom would be located close to this extra window. |
