| Description |
English: King Alfred Leisure Centre at Sunset Taken from King's Esplanade and looking towards the extension that houses the swimming pool. The centre was due to be demolished to make way for a new seaside development involving Frank Gehry, architect behind the Gugenheim Museum in Bilbao, but after a lengthy planning battle which they had near enough one the development company was hit by the credit crunch and no longer had the finances available to build. Consequently, the expected closure of the centre has been postponed for the time being. |
