Description Khabha and Kuldhara are among the several Ghost Villages near Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. These villages were inhabited by Brahmins who migrated from Pali (hence called Paliwal) in the Thirteenth Century. They wer properous traders but these villages were abandoned about 200 years ago for reasons not known. Some of the reaons attributed are, lack of water and drying up of sources, atrocities of an evil Minister Zalim Singh and Earthquake. While most buildings are in ruins with not one building with an intact roof, the Khabha Fort has been renovated and converted into a Museum.
