Description
English: The Lahti direct railway. The railway between the cities of Kerava and Lahti though Järvenpää and Mäntsälä cost 331 million euros, of which the European Union covered about 20 %. The railway is 74 kilometres long, of which 63 kilometres is newly built. The maximal speed of a train can be 220 km/h, but on the local traffic the railroad will be operated with the trains capable of 160 kilometres only. The railway is owned by the Finnish Rail Administration, ie. Ratahallintokeskus. The picture is taken in Mäntsälä.
Suomi: Lahden oikorata. Rautatie Keravalta Järvenpään ja Mäntsälän kautta Lahteen maksoi 331 miljoonaa euroa, josta Euroopan unioni maksoi noin 20 prosenttia. Rata on 74 kilometriä pitkä, josta 63 kilometria on täysin uutta rataa. Radan suurin sallittu nopeus on 220 km/h, mutta paikallisliikenteen junat voivat liikennöidä vain 160 km/h:n nopeudella. Radan omistaa ratahallintokeskus. Kuva on otettu Mäntsälässä.
