Summary

[edit]
Description Etching, according to photograph, about 1900, sent in 1905.
Note: Postcards were introduced to Austro-Hungarian monarchy by october 1, 1869, but first edited by postal authority only. By 1872, private editors were allowed to produce and sell postcards, and from there on picture postcards were produced. Until 1905, only the frontside of the card was allowed to contain private messages – the other side was exclusively reserved for the adresses. Therefore, blank space for the messages is foreseen on items of that early period.
Message says: "After a 9 hrs walk, etc..."; 'Kellerjoch' (2344m) was marked by 'X'
