| Description |
English: As different cultures are followed in India, there are many varieties of food cooked in different parts of India. The food in India has also been influenced by various civilizations, which have contributed their share in its overall development and the present form. The photograph present here is one of the dishes prepared in Gujarat state of India. It is known as “Methi nu shaak ane Bajri na rotala”. It is prepared from Fenugreek seeds and bread is made out of pearl millet flour. Along with, it is served with fried green chilli and raw onion. Specialty in making the millet bread is it is made by hand and no rolling pin is used. This roti is dipped in the Methi nu shak and eaten. Fenugreek as such are bitter in taste but the dish is made in such a way that bitterness is made palatable to the tongue. |
