Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Kashmere gate. Looking from the ridge whence the columns marched in 1857, when Nicholson stormed the breach in the Kashmir bastion and bought Delhi for ever with British blood. It looks more like a wood than a city - a suburb of white villas standing in orchards. Only the snowy domes and golden pinnacles betray the populous city that nestles below its mantle of green.
