Description
Deutsch: Südostansicht der Pfarrkirche hl. Johannes der Täufer in der steiermärkischen Marktgemeinde Kammern im Liesingtal. Die spätgotische Kirche befindet sich am südlichen Ortsrand und ist von einem teilweise ummauerten Friedhof umgeben. Im Sommer 1480 wurde die Vorgängerkirche bei einem Türkeneinfall zerstört. Danach wurde der Sakralbau wieder aufgebaut, erweitert und 1510 geweiht. Der achteckige Turmhelm des quadratischen, vorgestellten Westturmes stammt aus dem Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts. In der südlich angebauten Sakristei, die teilweise ein Teil des romanischen Vorgängerbaues ist, befinden sich am Tonnengewölbe noch schlecht erhaltene Fresken aus dem 13. Jahrhundert. Zur Barockzeit wurde nördlich eine kleine Kapelle angebaut.
