Deutsch: Der Kalvarienberg in Donauwörth am Schellenberg. Nach der Schlacht am Schellenberg (1704) gelobten Rat und Bürgerschaft der Stadt zum Dank dafür, dass Donauwörth nicht, wie befürchtet, zerstört wurde, eine Kreuzigungsgruppe auf dem Schlachtfeld errichten zu lassen.
1720 war das Gelöbnis eingelöst und wenig später entstand die Maria-Hilf-Kapelle. Der Kalvarienberg ist der der Stadt zugewandte Teil des Schellenbergs. |
