Description
English: Conjoined twins (ischiopagus tetrapus) born in Kalutara, Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) at 6:00 AM on January 10, 1900. The child lived for 7 days and 3 hours, dying at 9:00 AM on January 17, 1900. Father is a fisherman and a boatman on the Kaluganga river, depending on the season, healthy aged 38 years and 8 months, with very active habits; mother is 33 years and 2 months old, with 9 children (3 males and 2 females) living and 2 deceased (a male and a female), and also has active habits. Woman in photograph presumed to be the mother.
