Description
Deutsch: Terrasse aus dem chemisch ausgefällten Sediment Kalktuff im Tal der oberen Wiesaz, 3 km N der Quellen im talförmig ausgeräumten Albtrauf, bei Gönningen, Schwäbische Alb. Die riesigen, seit den Warmzeiten des Holozän entstandenen Kalktuffvorkommen, haben mehrere Terrassen und kleine Wasserfälle gebildet. Wo das Sediment als feuchter Fels anstand, entstanden Steinbrüche, wo das Sediment als Kalktuffsand anstand, wie im Foto sichtbar, wurde der Sand als Bausand oder Putzsand abgebaut. Drei kleine Seen entstanden als Rekultivierungsmaßnahmen in den 1970-iger Jahren, nachdem fabrikmäßiger Kalktuffblockabbau endgültig eingestellt worden war.

English: A terrace of calcareous tuff, here seen as calcareous sand, southeast of Gönningen (Reutlingen). The Tufa sediment, precipitated in ambient tempered water currants in the last 10 thousand years, was either rocky or sandy. The exploitation was finally given up in the 1972. Three small lakes are part of retrenchments thereafter.
