English: An Mi-17 helicopter lifts off from the flight line on the Kabul Air Wing at the Kabul International Airport, Sept. 17, 2013. The Mi-17 is a multirole helicopter used in resupply missions by Afghan National Security Forces throughout Afghanistan. The chopper is often used to air assault missions and medical evacuations. Once the buildup of the Afghan Air Force is complete, they will advance the KAW’s support capabilities setting the conditions for a professional, fully independent AAF. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt.
