Summary

[edit]
Description

In the Space Station Processing Facility at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, the agency's Stratospheric Aerosol and Gas Experiment III, or SAGE III, instrument has been placed in a shipping container. Engineers and technicians have prepared the device for its launch to the International Space Station later this year aboard a Dragon spacecraft launched atop a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. Once at the station, the agency's SAGE III instrument will take long-term measurements of ozone, aerosols and other trace gasses to help scientists better understand how to monitor and protect the Earth’s atmosphere.
