Summary
[edit]DescriptionKMZ Zenit E.jpg |
The venerable Zenit-E. This particular model is a late 1971 model, produced before many cost-cutting moves were made, such as using un-painted etched serial numbers and plastic shutter-speed dials. The Zenit range started out as an old Soviet copy of an older Leica, but by the early '70s the Zenit-E had become a true People's Camera. With innovate (cough) features like a cloth mechanical shutter (flash sync at 1/30th!) and a reflex mirror hinge made out of genuine leather, it's a miracle this camera even works. But it does! And I use it. See some of my pics from this camera in my photostream: www.flickr.com/photos/aperture_lag/tags/zenite/ Here's some additional information on the old Zenit: cameras.alfredklomp.com/zenite/ Nikon D5000, Tamron 35-135 3.5-4.5 Macro Adaptall-II Strobist: Sunpak auto 383 Super camera left, 1/16th, through white umbrella Promaster FTD-7000n camera right and behind, 1/8th, into silvered white umbrella Nikon SB-15 above onto white ceiling tile, MD mode (1/2 power?) |
