This extremely refined portrait from Hadrian's Villa at Tivoli features a very nice hairstyle with overlapping twisted sections of hair delicately draped around her face and elaborate small braids gathered into a round bun at the back of her head. The bun resembles hairstyles of the Flavian period, like Julia Titi's, and the small draped parts of hair seem to build upon the parted coiffures of Sabina and Greek goddesses. However, it remains a very distinctive expression of Faustina's character which changes significantly when viewed from different vantage points.
