Description
English: Indonesia has one original pine species known as Sumatran Pine Pinus merkusii. This plant grows on mountain slopes and hills in Sumatra at altitudes of 400 to 2000 meters above sea level. This photo shows several pine trees growing in Jurang Jero, an area that is part of Mount Merapi National Park on Java, where the pine is introduced and grown in plantations.
