Summary
[edit]DescriptionJuranagelfluh Obermiozaen Tengener-Rinne Riedoeschingen Schwaebische-Alb.jpg |
English: Farmland of Riedöschingen, a village northeast of Blumberg West-Swabian Alb. The environment is covered by cobbles of Miocene “Jüngere Juranagelfluh”, which are a fluvial sediment. The cobbles came from the north (Black Forest, northern foreland and Swabian Alb), the sedimentation is associated with the alpine “Obere Süßwassermolasse” (Upper Freshwater Molasse). These deposits came in such tremendous quantities, they produced three giant “runnels” (the dominant being the “Tengen runnel”) and pored their waters and sediments up to 350 m high and across the surface of approx. 30 km. Farming land is covered with it even today. See also the photo Image:Juranagelfluh_Obermiozaen_Hondingen_Tengener-Rinne_Schwaebische-Alb.jpg. These miocene runnels pored their water into the “Graupensandrinne”, forming huge alluvial fans. |
