Summary
[edit]DescriptionJura-Gelb.jpg |
English: Polished slab of a limestone of the Treuchtlingen Formation of the middle part of the Weißjura (Kimmeridgian) of the Franconian Alb (size ca 8×12 cm). In dimension stone business this limestone variety is called Jura-Marmor (“Jura marble”) or Treuchtlinger Marmor (“Treuchtlingen marble”). The white-speckled appearance is caused by the presence of the microfossil Tubiphytes morronensis (also Crescentiella morronensis) which is often assigned to the Foraminifera. |
