Julián Sánchez (1777 – 1832) died in Etreros, where he was first interred. In 1980, his remains were transferred to Salamanca, and finally, on 20 January 1985, to Ciudad Rodrigo, next to the bas-relief to his memory. The tombstone reads : Aqui yacen los restos / del guerrillero / Julián Sánchez / "El Charro" / 1774 – 1862(sic) / desde la vípsera del / dia de San Sebastián / Ano MCMLXXXV Location : Plaza de Herrasti, next to the stairs and ramp leading to the city walls.
