Fernald, Josiah Eastman Banker; b., Loudon, N. H., June 16, 1856; s. Josiah and Mary Esther (Austin) Fernald : ed. public schools of Loudon and Pittefield, N.H., academy; came to Concord in March, 1875, and entered employ of the National ^tate Capital Bank, working his way up from messenger boy to president, holding latter position since IB05; vice-presi- dent. Loan A Trust Savings bank; pres- ident, Concord Axle Co.; president, Nev England Cable Co. ; treasurer. Capital Fire Lisurance Co.; treasurer, Abbot-Downing Co. ; treasurer and trustee of Mary Baker Eddy estate; treasurer, N. H. Centennial Home for the Aged; treasurer. Concord board of trade since organization ; member. First Baptist chm'ch. Concord; holds the m^al of the Mass.
