This image might not be in the public domain outside of the United States; this especially applies in the countries and areas that do not apply the rule of the shorter term for US works, such as Canada, Mainland China (not Hong Kong or Macao), Germany, Mexico, and Switzerland. The creator and year of publication are essential information and must be provided. See Wikipedia:Public domain and Wikipedia:Copyrights for more details.

Notes

[edit]
  • One observer writes: "It is not Josef Christaens. It is his mechanic/co-driver Frank Bill." However several websites identify the image as Josef Christiaens.
  • Josef Christiaens had a mustache in several pictures taken a few years earlier. Frank Bill is described as a very slight person, less than 5 feet tall, which doesn't match the person in the picture. (Source: Richard Norton in 2022)
  • Another writes: "This isn’t Frank Bill. I’m his great grand son."
