Inscriptions | Al pie: "EL EXCMO. SOR. Dn. JUAN ESCOIQUIZ Arcediano de Talavera, consejero de Estado jubilado, Bibliotecario Mayor de S.M. Gran Cruz de la Orden de Carlos 3º y distinguido con las Cruces del Escorial y Valencey. Nació en Ocaña el 14 de julio de 1747, hecho caballero paje de S.M./ el Sor. Dn. Carlos 3º, entró en la Rl. Casa en 1762. De ella salió a Canónigo de la Iglesia de Zaragoza en 1768. En 89 fue nombrado Sumiller de Cortina por el Sr. D. Carlos 4º y en 96 maestro dso.Sor Príncipe de Asturias / D. Fernando 7º actualmente reinante. Agraciado con el Arcedianato de Lorca, siguió en la enseñanza de S.A.R. hasta 21 de febrero de 1800 en que hecho arcediano de Alcaráz y Canónigo de Toledo, pasó a residir a dicha ciudad en donde permaneció hasta 1º de noviembre de 1807 en que preso de Orn de S.M. el Sor. Dn. Carlos 4º como primer móvil de la famosa Causa del Escorial, fue declarado inocente y a pesar de esto desterrado sin termino por la prepotª del Favorito, al monasterio del desierto del Tardón, del que salió por fin en Marzo de 1808 de Orden del Sor. Dn. Fernando 7º. Acompañó a S.M. en su viaje a Bayona siguiendo en su regreso permaneciendo al lado de su Rl persona mientras se le permitió por Bonaparte. Dedicado a la literatura, ha dado a luz varias obras en prosa y en verso." | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
