English: G-IBPE soil pit overview (left) and close-up of the soil pedon described and classified by the NRCS Soil Survey (right). Tape measure visible in right photo provides scale (cm).
Horizontal lines on right photo indicate approximate depth of horizon boundaries. Horizon notation follows Schoeneberger et al. (2002). Horizons with suffix “k” have accumulation of pedogenic carbonates (calcic), “t” indicates pedogenic clays (argillic), and “m” indicates indurated horizons (petrocalcic in this case). |
