Description
English: McDonald's Grip, the gas house pup. Dam: The Middleton Dog; Sire: Sweeney's Fly. Circa 1875. Weight: 31 pounds. Color: Brindle and white, black nose. A famous american fighting dog owned by John McDonald from Boston Gas Light Company (Commercial Street, Boston, Mass.) at late half of the 19th century. Grip was an important dog in the foundation stock of the American Pit Bull Terrier breed.
