Description

Transcribed from postcard: "Monument erected to John Hart McGraw, at one time Governor of the State of Washington, Commemorating his Connection with the Lake Washington Ship Canal, Seattle, U.S.A." McGraw served as Governor of Washington between 1894 and 1897. The statue was created by Richard Brooks in 1913 and is located in downtown Seattle. Colonel Blethen, owner of the Seattle Times, was one of the funders.
