Summary

[edit]
Description

Arnhem The Netherlands.

In 1977 werd A Bridge Too Far van Cornelius Ryan verfilmd.

Since 1978 the bridge is named after the English Lieutenant-colonel John Dutton Frost (1912-1993) who was the officer in command of the second Battalion of the First British Airborne Corps during the battle of Arnhem (Operation Market Garden) in September 1944. Unfortunately the operation became a failure.

In 1977 ‘A Bridge Too Far’ based on the book by Cornelius Ryan was released. The bridge used in this movie was not the John Frost Bridge, but the bridge of Deventer, a small city N.E. of Arnhem.
