Français : Squelette d'une jeune fille dite "jeune fille du Cheix". Musée Bargoin, dans la ville de Clermont-Ferrand, en France.
La "jeune fille du Cheix" a été découverte dans une sépulture datant du Néolithique ancien (autour de 4700 avant J.-C.) au lieu-dit Cheix, à Saint-Diéry, dans le Puy-de-Dôme, en France. Il s'agit du plus ancien squelette connu à ce jour en Auvergne. La sépulture a été creusée à 760 m d'altitude, au pied d'un escarpement basaltique, sur la rive gauche de la vallée de la Couze (un ravin reliant la plaine au massif du Sancy). La grotte a été découverte et fouillée par G. Desrut et E. Deret en [1968, date à confirmer]. La sépulture abritait le squelette d'une jeune fille reposant sur le côté droit en position foetale, la tête orientée vers le sud, le visage tourné vers l'est, les pieds calés entre les parois du fond de l'abri. Près de ses avant-bras se trouvait un petit crayon d'ocre et une défense de sanglier de taille remarquable. Son crâne était ocré. |
