Summary
[edit]DescriptionJesmond Dene Mill 1179.JPG |
Jesmond Dene is one of the Ouseburn Parks, near Jesmond in Newcastle upon Tyne. The Land was given to William Armstrong as a wedding present in 1835. He planted hundreds of shrubs and laid miles of paths, built a grotto, many bridges and a waterfall on the Ouse Burn. Today it is a public park. It was refurbished with a Heritage Lottery. Grant. Mabel's Mill (the Old Mill) (Heaton Mill) is a feature. In its time the mill has ground corn, pig feed and flint for the potteries. This flint version overshot mill dates from the 1789.
