Description
Deutsch: Der Altar in Gestalt eines schlichten Betonblocks von 150 cm x 80 cm und 90 cm Höhe (incl. Sockel) wurde 1964 zur Ausstattung des damals neu gebauten Jeremiahauses in der Kölner Mozartstr. 15 von Wolfhard Röhrig geschaffen. In den Altar integriert ist ein bronzenes Taufbecken (dessen Deckel anlässlich der Aufstellung unter freiem Himmel fest mit dem Becken verbunden wurde); die wellenförmige Durchbrechung des Betons im linken Bereich versinnbildlicht das Wasser der Taufe. Die rechte Seite des Altars weist mit Ähre und Weinrebe auf das Abendmahl hin. Nach Schließung der Jeremiahauses am 26. November 2006 wurde der Altar auf dem Geusenfriedhof in Köln-Lindenthal aufgestellt, wo er bisweilen bei Freiluft-Gottesdiensten genutzt wird. Das Foto entstand im Juni 2022, nachdem der Altar schon deutlich über ein Jahrzehnt der Witterung und den Einflüssen der umgebenden Pflanzen ausgesetzt war.
