In memory of Francis John JAYNE, Bishop of Chester 1889-1919 who died at Oswestry, Shropshire 23rd August 1921 husband of Emily Sarah who died 13th August 1939
Next panel: William SYMONDS, Honary Canon of this cathedral church, Rector of Stockport 1875 – 1918 Window inscription was given by his sons and daughters 15th March 1919 He was born 30th March 1858 at St, Mary's church, Torquay, Devon and died 2nd July 1918 aged 60. At the time of his death he was residing at Bury St Edmunds. He was the son of Sir Thomas Charles SYMONDS G.C.B., Rear Admiral of the Fleet and Prestwood Mary, nee WOLRIDGE. It was noted in the census records except 1911 he stated that he was single. 1911 census gave no status as to marriage he was a Clergyman at Long Newnton Rectory, Tetbury, Gloucestershire
