Description
English: The famous Jai Bageshwari temple of Devpatan is located on the side of the road to Jaybageshwari or Chabahil in Kathmandu. This temple was damaged by the earthquake of 2072 BS and is currently being rebuilt. The name of this toll is changed from the name of this temple to Jai Bageshwari. This Licchavi Kalin temple was in pagoda style and is still being built in pagoda style.

Jai Bageshwari is a tantric goddess composed of three parts namely Mahalakshmi, Mahakali and Mahasaraswati. Therefore, she has a shield and sword indicating Mahalakshmi, a mirror indicating Saraswati and Mugdal indicating Mahakali in her hand. In the Bhasha genealogy, it is said that Jayabageshwari came from Mansarovar and crossed the Shila river in the Vdapar era and settled in Devpatan. This Jayabageshwari is considered to be the date of Navdurga Bhavani. That is why the dance of Navdurga is brought from Bode village and the danced all night in front of the main dabli. In the month of Poush, fire is lit to the Goddess and Trishul Jatra is shown in Ashadh. It is also customary to clean and paint the goddess every twelve years. Ranga (Buffalo) is also sacrificed once in twelve years. According to the language genealogy, one night a thief entered the Jai Bageshwari temple, stole all the ornaments and came out of the door and sat on the table. The next day, the theft was discovered at the temple and an investigation was launched. King Nripendra Malla also reached the temple after receiving the news of the theft. While searching, the thief was found, but he could neither speak nor get up. He had all the stolen jewelry. All the jewels were taken with her and returned to the goddess. Therefore, there is a belief that the person who steals it is dumb and dumb. It is said that the storehouse of Jai Bageshwari was emptied once by King Nripendra Malla and once by King Jai Prakash Malla.

It is mentioned in the inscription that this temple was built by Kaulik Bhim Singh. The restoration of this temple took place on the day of Phagun Shukla Pratipada in 1492 BS in memory of the tragic death of Jayasthiti Malla's wife. This temple is considered to be very ancient. Worship is performed in this temple according to Tantric rituals.
