English: Master Jaspreet Singh, studied Sitar under the Legendary Top Grade Sitarist Gurudev Pandit Manu Seen (Dada Guru Padamshree Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan of Etahwah Gharana), the maestros that inspired him to begin the very difficult yet magical journey of the Sitar. Before being initiated in to Sitar playing Master Jaspreet was introduced to Hindustani Vocal by Princiapl Anupama Rattan and Sub. Daljeet Singh; as well as Layakari, Tabla by Siri Madhuresh Bhatt, of Banaras Gharana. He has won multiple national and international awards for his performances and is known for his vibrant and soulful interpretations of the Ragas. He has successfully completed his M.A. and M.Phil with National gold medals from Punjabi University Patiala and Pursuing Ph.D, did Sangeet Visharad from Pracheen Kala Kendra Chandigarh with many honours and distinctions in both sitar performance and teaching many different Hindustani instruments: Sitar, Tabla, Surbahar, Veena, Rabab, Harmonium, Dilruba, and vocals. he is working as a Director at Dharohar Kala Kendra (an institute of performing arts), and has some books and recording in his credit |
