Description
English: portrait of a meiji-era japanese soldier, a commemorative scroll with honours-citation relating to his actions during the russo-japanese war (unclear if this is a posthumous-memorial scroll or not, translation needed); wittig collection, painting-05; reference shot 01. Extra info: Army infantry sergeant uniform in 1904 (Meiji 37). Since he belongs to the 37th Infantry Regiment, he has the letters "37" on his epaulettes. As a non-commissioned officer, his sleeve insignia is represented by a large yellow line and a small yellow line.
