Español: Faetón, hijo de Febo y de Clímene, se atreve conducir el carro del sol de su padre, ocasionado el caos en la tierra y la intervención de Júpiter con sus rayos. Rubens trazó unos bocetos, inspirados en Las metamorfosis, para la decoración de la Torre de la Parada. Jan Carel van Eyck pinta al óleo sobre lienzo (1636-1638) la referida caída del hijo de Apolo.
