Description

Rue de l’Héronnière, Nantes « La plupart des manuscrits de Jules Verne sont conservés à la médiathèque de Nantes. La statue se trouve sur son parvis, monument à Jules Verne de Jacques Raoult. Représentant Michel Ardan dans le projectile de De la Terre à la Lune, elle a été inaugurée en 1986 à l’ouverture de la médiathèque. Michel Ardan est debout avec son chien à côté de lui. Michel Ardan est un personnage créé par Jules Verne et qui figure un aventurier français dans le roman « De la Terre à la Lune », demandant à partir dans le projectile vers la Lune. Ardan est également l'un des personnages récurrents de la série « Les cités obscures ». Ce personnage fut inspiré par Félix Nadar, dont il porte le nom sous forme d'anagramme (Ardan / Nadar). Son prénom, Michel, est un hommage au fils de Jules Verne. »
