English: Jack's at Cromane. This pub, just off the beach, is very popular in the season. A new extension is being built on the other side with extensive views over Dingle Bay. This is not a plug, just fact!
I'm grateful to a site visitor who has provided the following additional information. "Jack's pub at Cromane. Named after Jack Sugrue, whose family ran it for many decades. Jack was a gentleman who helped many in the community. The building was a Coastguard station until Independence in 1921, and the small stone building about 75 yards North by the beach is the old boathouse. It has long ceased to be used as a boat house, and may be empty now." The stone boathouse referred to is presumably this one 774848 |
