Description

1850-1865 carte de visite photo of a man in a 3-piece suit by John Eastman Palmer, of Ground Floor Gallery, 58 Union Street, Stonehouse, Plymouth, Devon, England. The back of the card does not yet give his 1865 award, and the subject wears 1850s fashion, hence the above dating.

Points of interest
  • The man appears confident but has no watch chain
  • His shoes, though polished, are muddy around the sole - he has walked to the studio.
