English: U.S. Army 2nd Lt. Robert Hurd, assigned to the Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 4th Infantry, fires an M9 pistol during the Joint Multinational Training Command Best Warrior Competition at the Grafenwoehr Training Area, Germany, Aug. 12, 2015. The four-day competition challenges soldiers and noncommissioned officers all of who have previously competed to be named the best in their units, to prove their skills in military knowledge, leadership, and endurance in the warrior task and drills critical to success and survival on the modern battlefield. The winners will go on to compete in the Europe wide U.S. Army Europe’s (USAREUR) Best Warrior Competition beginning September 2015.
