Description
Deutsch: Porta Aurea, der Haupteingang des Diokletianspalastes auf der Nordseite. Das Tor war über zehn Jahre eingerüstet, seit 2013 ist es resturiert und wieder sichtbar. In den Nischen standen zu Diokletians Zeiten Statuen, doch sie sind nicht erhalten. Die Falze im Torrahmen dürften Führungen für ein Fallgatter gewesen sein. An den anschließenden Mauern sind die vielfältigen Umbauspuren in der Zeit seit Diokletian zu sehen, doch hatten die Bürger wohl immer Sinn für die Herkunft der Anlage.
