Description
Deutsch: Von der Brücke Werderstraße Richtung Süden, die Schleuse Werder ist Teil des Merseburger Mittelkanals, der 1933 geplant und 1943 eingestellt wurde. Der Kanal sollte die Schifffahrt und Hochwasserwellen um Merseburg herumleiten, die Schleppzugschleuse Werder die beiden Staustufen der Schleusen Merseburg–Meuscha und Rischmühlenschleuse ersetzen. Oberhalb der Schleuse Werder wurde das Kanalbett nicht mehr ausgehoben, auch die Schleusentore wurden nicht eingebaut.
