Elle est connue pour son ensemble de mosaïques du VIᵉ siècle. Construite au VIe siècle par Theodoric. Au IXe siècle, on y transporta les reliques de Saint Apollinaire, premier évêque de Ravenne. La façade est maintenant précédée par un portique en marbre du XVIe siècle. Les parois sont les plus vastes surfaces couvertes de mosaïques qui nous sont parvenues depuis l'Antiquité. |
